How do I enable train engines on both sides for other trains?

The button does nothing

Open vehicle editor, click on trains, select the train you want to change, click on the check box "Engine on both sides" then finally click on "Set". From now on all newly created vehicles will have their engine on both sides, trains created before that aren't updated.
