(GM) SBaHJ: THE MAOP 2: THE SEQEUL

The future of the maop
OK! so, after a few days, here is my layout of the next maop releases.

The maop is almost done. we're at 90% complete, with just the last few features left, and one small texture bug. I have to add in two more traps, replace the Derse cubes with actual prop counterparts for cubemap reasons (most clearly seen at the collapsed foot of the Derse room), and sort out the Slender materials. I'm also in the process of fixing all overlays.

Once this process is done and confirmed as working, I will then be in a position to export this maop to all versions of gamemodes. As of now, the plan is to tackle GM, TTT, Murder, Razborka, Slender and The Stalker. If you have any other suggestions, I'm all ears!

Afterwards, I will process all the old maops to this new format. This will greatly help with asset efficiency and will give me a chance to right some issues with the old maops.

I'm estimating it will take a fortnight to complete all of these features for completing the second maop. Most of the special entities are already in place, and are just waiting.

Thanks again to all fans and players who play this! I'm very keen to see people play this maop, so if you make a video, be sure to link it here!

wtf is that black thing you can spawn in the admin room? and while im on omgwtf what is that. whats with the skyboxes in both maops?

The black thing is not yet done. it will be a trap in the main room when I'm through with it.

Also, the skyboxes are there to set the scene. in the first, they give a vague sense of location. in the Homestuck community, the creatures outside are known as Horrorterrors, and they exist near a place called Derse, a planet of purple metal.

I don't want to spoil the SBaHJ 2 maop, but it's setting is also Derse, except now you can see what is going on in this Homestuck "Session".

Basically, unless you know about the story behind Homestuck, it's only going to be window dressing. If you know the story, decode the clues and read into the environment, you can figure out what is going on.

I forget exactly what I put in there, but it's all related to the meta of the session, as I described before. To understand it better, you should give Homestuck a read, which is a webcomic I heartily recommend!

To summarise, there are these "spiritual guides" that each player has. They are called "kernelsprites". They can be prototyped twice, meaning of you dump something into them, they inherit the properties of that object, as well as any memories or personalities associated with any dead/living thing placed into it. They're usually cryptic and help the player to grow as a person, staying to the sidelines to let them beat the session.

In this session, one of the kernelsprites were prototyped with an Aperture object, of some sorts. And, as per GLaDOS, broke away from their programming, and decided to get very involved in events, rather than stay to the side. The aperture iconography shows his influence on the session and story, as he manufactures androids and weapons with the express mission to win the session.

I could go on, but that's the gist of it.

Also, sorry everyone for the long wait! My laptop died, so I needed to get a shiny new one. I've got everything in place, I just needed to transfer the files. They should be all good now, so I'll get on to finishing this maop, then converting it for TTT, Murder etc.!

Go to the room with the squorrel pen. Hold C and move your cursor around until a section of the green wall lights up.
Boom.
