Total War: ATTILA

Fall of the Eagles - Part 1
Is this mod supposed to be historical?
Because it seem like it isn't.
I'm playing on normal. Almost every province has -20 order every turn and barabrians attack from the very start everywhere. Both did not happen.
I guess my question is: Is this mod about making the game a lot harder in an ahistorical way? Making the eagles fall?

In fact Honorius' reign was planted with catastrophes one by one and simultaneously. Much more than mod reproduces.

While that is true, the time curve is completely off. It wasn't Theodosius dies, WRE collapses. Only with the death of Stilicho did things really implode. As it is now most provinces rebel during the first eight turns. Did I miss anything?

The mod is for people who have played vanilla to death and want a new challenge, yes?

It is completely on.

It was.

Vastly wrong. Stilicho was killed because everything imploded.

Yes, a lot of gaps in history you need to read.

No. It is for everyone who doesn't expect nor accept vanilla crappy gameplay.

Well, if you ever come up with any, please let me know.
While haven't studied history, I went to a dozen or so courses at our history department which is like top 20 globally. I must admit though that most of the literture I have read has been about the late republican period.
I have read Gibbon obviously. As far as I know the WRE was still a pretty formidable and reltively stable empire in 395 ce.
I assume you can point me towards some books for scientific audiences and peer reviewed studies that paint a different picture?

Still waiting for those sources. Just give me some book titles and peer reviewed studies you are basing this mod on.
I have access to scientific literture through my university account.
What is your alma mater, if I might ask? Mine is the Humboldt University in Berlin.
