I could just be stupid, as I'm not very experienced with CK2 but it seems like the pirates are a little limited. In outer space I get the tag "infidel" with other characters just because my "religion" is pirate??

This may just be the only way to do it with the mod, but I would suggest coming up with a different way to make pirates such. Also, the only pirates I can play are some Tengoku mix or something? Which means almost everyone to whom I speak in my faction hates me because I'm a foreigner, yet both of my starting vassals are from other races too.

So bottom line, I would suggest:

a) get rid of ethnicity bias or at least tone it down when in your own faction
b) alter or remove religions, because it's outer space. By now I would hope humanity has dropped the whole "infidel! I ride my camel at you!" mentality, as many of these religions would not have made it into space in such a way that they would actually have DOMAINS in space. Religions should be more personal and maybe provide a small inter-personal bonus in relations with other lords/ladies.

Have you thought about adding in highly speclized/localized goods ala Melange in order to put the focus on certain regions of space-trade zones and boons to warring or allying with the holders ?

In addition, with the pirates at least, I think raiding should give them tech points. In fact, I think that should be the PRIMARY way of acquiring tech points, or doing some sort of heist missions. Just a thought that came to me.

In addition, since most pirate factions are TINY by comparison, they should be able to conquer a place without a claim. It's just the pirate way.

Thanks Kaiser, I understand but what I'm trying to say is that I'm noticing there are a ton of negatives for being one of the pirate factions, only one of which is traditional "raider" style.

Also, as I mentioned there is a lot of hate in my faction, because there seems to be a mix-up on the pirates races? I have 2 white vassals of different ethnic groups, while I'm also of another, then my court and citizens are yet another but they hate each other for it? I mean these are some sizable penalties that make it impossible to get the vassals to lend you any troops so you're basically stuck in your little circle on the west side of the map.

It's very frustrating because those vassals not only refrain from giving you soldiers, but they also go on their own campaigns, bringing an invasion down on your hread but there is literally nothing you can do about it. It just seems like it could use some tweaking is all I mean.
