Since the damage is also based on how many particles come across the target, focusing it in one point would be like the ultimate 1hit ko thing ( as long as it hits ), while if you make it wider ( but keep the same amount of particles ) you have more chances of hitting, but you end up with the same trick to scatterguns ( if you don't put all dem bullets in the meat, the damage'll be lower ).
