Takeoff Distance Change?
Is there anyway to increase the amount of runway a plane uses to takeoff? They use a unrealistic amount of runway to takeoff and it bothers me.

You could try to play with the acceleration value of your planes in Advanced Vehicle Options (AVO).

Using Advanced Vehicle Options is indeed the way to go. For a 2.5 - 3 km long runway I use these settings:
speed: 250-280 km/h (varying with aircraft, I would like to set this even higher, as in real life, but then you have to increase the acceleration values to a level where it all looks just as unrealistic as the vanilla values.)
acceleration: 0.18-0.30 (heavier planes have slower acceleration)
brake: 0.5-0.8 (heavier planes have lower brake value)

Setting different settings for different planes is very interesting because planes will reach VR (where they will liftoff) at different spots on the runway, as in real life :) Using too low brake values makes the planes drift at turnoff, that 's the reason why I set them higher than acceleration.

So wait, planes actually rotate in Cities based on their speed? Also, I looked in AVO and I cant seem to find acceleration settings.

easyboy... A 0.30 rate is therefore 'heavier' then say 0.20? And the same for 'braking values'?
Thx - I never thought of adjusting values on the acft.

Now left to teach them gliding during landing procedire.

Lucky for you they use the takeoff road. In my cities, they use Taci way for landing.
