Issues with the GitHub guide for Getting Ragdoll Phonemes
Hello, I was trying to follow the guide on the GitHub on exporting phonemes from L4D2 ragdolls, and noticed something that got me stuck.

Once saved, move this txt file to garrysmod/data/phonemetool, and you should be able to use these phonemes with Phoneme Tool.

The phonemetool folder in the garrysmod/data folder does not exist, and even creating a new folder names phonemetool and adding the .json file from the exported SFM script into the new folder still doesn't work.

Any clues on what's happening? Any help is appreciated, thank you.

just noticed your post, probably late but as i've checked tool looks for .txt files, not .jsons. should be an easy fix by replacing the file extension name

Thank you for your response! I'll check it out in a bit.

Alright, so turning the .json file into a .txt file actually made the phonemetool actually detect the phonemes that were in the model. Now the new problem is that the facial flexes aren't working for either the visemes or the phonemes. Will record a video soon to showcase the problem.

Also, once again, thank you for responding to my thread. I nearly forgot all about this!

P.S. To anyone who's interested, I'll keep the problem documented. Don't wanna be some redditors who just fixes the problem with no solution.

what models are you using? iirc l4d2 guys had differences between sfm and game models and phonemes weren't working for some type of them, so you may need to check around.

perhaps try putting sfm models into gmod, you may also put physics from game models onto sfm ones iirc, i recall a guy did that but i don't recall how exactly - probably just with putting .phy files together with the model, i recall he didn't need to decompile them
