I personally prefer her upgraded fan because you get extra range. Its even easier to kite out of enemy attacks, especially if you have a speed up of a road or her insane/full moon speed up. Even normal Wharang can get three hits on a tree guard with no speed boost before needing to dodge.
I was able to fight the firefly behind two boulders without ever triggering the giant's swiping motion. I could get in two hits and back a centimeter away to dodge the AOE, and go back in for another two to three hits.
Bearger I never even fight personally, because I use him to knock down trees. Typically this spawns two tree guards after knocking down half the forest and they kill him for me.
Deer clops is easy to kite as well, one swing and easy dodge on his attack because you're further away.
Moose goose I haven't fought yet, but I'm sure its just as easy.
I don't recommend fighting without upgrading the fan first. I keep a Spike on me during a boss fight just in case my fan loses its durability.
