Discussion regarding perceived oversaturation of anime themed/unbalanced mods
@Cydaddy
I'd like to also say thank you for at least backing up your opinion with some suggestions and reasoning rather than simply leading a blind hate crusade against something you aren't fond of. That said, I'm going to have a bit more dissenting of an opinion than the author here. First of all, vis-a-vis servers being unbalanced by anime mods or whatever: switch mods enabled. Solved. Alternatively if you want mods that aren't stacked either for or against a player, you'll just have to gamble server by server. If that isn't sufficient set up your own server for the game. A buddy of mine and I did, it's really not that difficult. In that regard you can tailor the modset to your tastes and see who joins and shares your tastes. On that note:
"you will understand that this game is supposed to be-" I'm gonna stop you right there, because I don't think you're a Klei developer so whether or not you perceive that to be the case, that may or may not be entirely true. As far as i'm concerned, the freedom to add mods to a server outright displays their intention for users to adjust the games goals, difficulty, etc to their own preferences, meaning "this game is supposed to be-" is invalid IMO. The game is supposed to be how the server admin wants it to be. As previously mentioned, if you were to be that server admin, you could tailor the game to your perception of what the game should be.
On the note of western-influenced mods: I don't think anybody's opposed to that. however when you say "there should be more x or y mods" you're really playing with other people's time there. Payed mods were stricken down so people aren't paying the bills with this, they're doing it for their own enjoyment or for a warm fuzzy, meaning it's largely up to the authors themselves what they make. If authors feel like making OP anime characters 100% of the time, thems the breaks. Suggestions are fine (and to fair that's all you were doing, I'm just going on a tangent about the state of the steam workshop in general here) but the way some people feel the need to say an author's mod is outright unacceptable because it doesn't cater to a specific user's tastes is screwed. I don't think anyone would combat that addition of more western influenced mods. Hell I'd like to see an archer or a lone survivor mod, I think that'd be neat. But I ain't gonna make it, so I'm likewise not going to complain if it never happens. Personally I don't mind that anime is so popular nor that anime based mods are more common. I don't like the le reddit blah blah euphoric something meme mods, I find them annoying as hell but I'm not going to lead a death march against them because some people jive with that, and that's their business not mine. I don't even generally like the kind of anime that are popular for mods either so I'm left out in the cold myself, but again it's the authors time being used, not mine, so I don't have a say in it.

at least some of them actually have a degree of quality
a lot of mods rn are sh*tty oc characters that add nothing else to the game, or simple quality-of-life coding changes
