AI becomes inactive at random points
Hi!

I just played two matches against the AI at "medium" difficulty and both times the AI simply stalled upon reaching castle age.

Both times its population was stuck at 21 villagers. I did not attack the AI in any way before that, I was rushed by some knights and fought back and after that nothing came.

Interestingly, the AI also did not really attack once I started attacking. Basically enemy units only reacted upon being hit and did nothing else.

No units were produced, no armys controlled or anything.

I don't use any other mods except some cosmetic texture mods.

same happened now to me. I play 1v1v1v1v1 (where 2 of us are players and 3 computers, 1 new and 2normal AI). the new one got stuck and doesn't do almost anything, just attacks with army if ugo near it. Same for the old one. It's a shame ;[

Yes, I have the same problem. Bot v Bot v Bot v Bot v Bot, created huge army, doesn't react until it is approached even when the rest of the base is under siege.

I believe I have fixed this bug in the latest patch. Please let me know if you still encounter it. Please let me know if this is encountered again and any replays are appreciated. Tracking down this bug has been difficult. Every subsequent update I have released has included a fix to reduce the likelihood of the AI freezing. This bug also affects the HD AI but in a different way. A few weeks ago I tracked it down to an Aoe2 HD Engine Bug (I used to be the QA Lead when the game had devs so I am familiar with the engine) where the game can potentially skip a rule early game. If the rule skipped is vital, such as failing to build a Lumber Camp, that causes a cascade so I have implemented numerous additional checks for these issues. Without a recorded game I can't be certain which exact rule is being skipped for each of you but I am 99% sure that I have found the culprit.

ResonanceBot 5-1c's latest December update for 2019 (v2.2b) contains a very comprehensive set of fixes to ensure the AI does not get stuck early game. I hope you all enjoy the new update!
