Wall Building Bug
ResBot doesn't completely build walls. It builds about 1 or 2 gates (maybe a couple stone walls) and then stops

This is due to a bug of the AI engine, not ResBot directly. The AI can't deal well with walls, it will get its unit stuck very often, which is why in most cases walls will actually harm it more than they will help it - Due to this, ResBot doesn't build walls to avoid that problem.

Ok. Thanks for clearing that up :). I''m curious. Why is it that the Original AI can build walls well? Did the AI script change a ton from the Conqueres and the HD versions?

All comes down to processing power, yes you could make it the most advanced AI ever but its likely that the AI will use so much of your computers resources and it will become a bloated nightmare.

AI's are simple creatures and shouldn't be fed too much information at one time.
Wouldn't creating an AI so advanced that it can perform complicated actions with minimal computing power like processing it's own enviroment and simultaneously adapting to it be a major scientific breakthrough? I don't think that's gonna happen anytime soon, especially not in Age of Empires lol. The AI just carries out scripts... predetermined cause and effect, but...not necessarily action and reaction.

What if that AI has already been created...and it's US...

Definately there is something wrong with ResonanceBot building walls and gates, it builds them partly, leaving holes. This is not the engine's fault, as the Old Standard AI still builds walls and gates "properly" (like in the original game I mean, I'm aware of the problems).

Isn't it possible to just copy the original AI wall commands to ResonanceBot?. Some of us just want to see walls and gates, don't care if the AI gets stuck sometimes, they are cool and needed for casual play even if the AI gets clunky dealing with them at times, especially if you can toggle this ability on and off. Just the normal walls and gates of the original game (even with their limitations), but currently ResBot is having problems at just emulating it.

I wish the wall building bug can be fix asap, i just want them to build old standard ai style wall :(
