Sometimes Alien glitches in objects when there are no players/NPC's on map or when there are no NPC's on map and you've enabled feature that makes AI ignore you.

However there are some closed gates on the map where Alien tries to go throught them, so yeah it might be only a AI and nav bug. AI bug, since there are alternative routes to reach your location and nav bug becouse nav goes throught this gate.
