Any tips on surviving the initial Persian onslaught that occurs 2-3 turns into the campaign?

Ive tried every difficulty yet i just can't get enough troops recruited to defend against those 3 almost full stacked armies they attack me with. I've also tried bargaining a peace but to no avail. Really keen to play as Armenia.
