How to update!
This discussion is being created because Steam is causing a few mod update issues that some people are not aware of.

Background Information:
How does steam update your files?
Steam has no way to do a differential on the files so what steam does instead is test if the 2 files are of the same name, and of a close to almost identical size.

Is this reliable?
No, if you change a word that is of the same length(character count) that file is different but steam will think it's identical, that could be the difference between a server crashing and not crashing.

How do I work around this?
Delete the mods folder on your computer before updating files to your server, Steam\steamapps\common\Ark\ShooterGame\Content\Mods\ <--- Always delete this folder before updating mods on your server, close steam and open steam and the game, this will force download the files again and get the new versions that have been updated on steam.

Step 1
Close steam, exit and close application.
Step 2
Delete Steam\steamapps\common\Ark\ShooterGame\Content\Mods\ ** You could just delete the mod you are updating **
Step 3
Open steam back up again, it will say it download a workshop item, start the game to unpack/install the game locally
Step 4
Upload the new mods to the server, don't remove mods from the server, just overrite the file. *Why? Because steam doesn't always download everything... le sigh*
Step 5
Test on your server, does it work? Yes ? Awesome. No? Try the test server, see if it works on the Aku Shima test server.
