-Instead of ammo, you have a cooldown system (if you've played Star Wars Battlefront 2 you should know what I am talking about) where as the more you shoot more heat is generated, slowing the fire rate until the weapon stops. You must wait for the weapon to cool down to shoot again, and ammo sources do NOT recharge it faster.
-Lazers can be reflected by the Pyro's airblast
I made this as more of a weapon from the universe of space action movies such as Star Wars, with some balancing. I doubt this'd be the real stats.

Based loosely on the Cleaner's Carbine. This weapon handles more like an assault rifle than an SMG, with increased range and tighter spread at the cost of a slower firing rate and smaller clip. Great for Snipers who like to keep their distance or finish off wounded enemies.

Explodes on impact, dealing 100% weapon damage to enemies in a rocket launcher sized blast radius

Just a note: the weapon deals smg damage to enemies hit with the bullet and 50% smg damage in the blast radius.
This would be a good weapon for taking out large groups of people and sentry nests. more of a "combat sniper" sort of SMG than a panic weapon
While weapon is active:

On hit: Spies and Medics lose a small amount of their Cloak and Uber, respectively (the shots do NOT penetrate, however)
Negatives:
-40% Clip Size (Only 15 shots loaded as opposed to 25)
Wielder is Marked For Death and will receive Mini-Crits while weapon is active, and for 3 seconds after switching weapons.

No random crits.
Spies will burn if hit by SMG.
