Hosting Ark FAQ
If you want to host this mod on your server and your having any problems, please let me know what is going on so I can try to get it fixed ASAP. Also, I would like your server information so that I can show people who is running this mod, and where they can play with it online.

Thank you guys!

Current servers with mod installed:

To install this mod, please follow thse instructions:

Do a local install (directions can be found in this forum)
After downloading and installing the mod, you need ot find the files for it.
/SteamApps/common/ARK/shooterGame/Content/Mods/485964701

You need to copy the mod folder and load it to the same directory in your dedicated server files. Also, copy the 485964701.mod file, and put it in the ShooterGame\Content\Mods folder. After that is done, you just need to enter the following into your command line:

TheIsland?GameModIds=485964701

Usually yoru command liine will look like this:

start ShooterGameServer.exe TheIsland?QueryPort={portnum}?SessionName={your session name}?MaxPlayers={num of players to allow}?listen?ServerPassword={login password}?ServerAdminPassword={in game admin password} -nosteamclient -game -server -log

You are just substituting the new launch command with "ShooterGameServer.exe TheIsland?"
This tells the server that you are wanting to a run a server running the Mod program instead, then the mod tells the server that it wants to run a modified version of TheIsland.

So the launch should look EXACTLY like this for your server:

TheIsland?GameModIds=485964701?QueryPort={portnum}?SessionName={your session name}?MaxPlayers={num of players to allow}?listen?ServerPassword={login password}?ServerAdminPassword={in game admin password} -nosteamclient -game -server -log

What if I am using the ARK Server Manager. How do I host it through that? It only allows you to add addition cmd line arguments. So if I can't edit the entire cmd file is there a specific way to do it then? Or do I just slap the new replacement line into the additional cmd line arguments?

You would have to send a support ticket request to your service provider so that you can remove the previous command line and start a new one

Are the numbers supposed to be different once you move them?

The numbers come from the file that holds the mod. It tells the server which folder to look in
Frosty 25 Jul, 2015 @ 12:26am
I just meant in your description the number for the mod folder was different in the 2 locations

Your right, I'm sorry about that, those numbers are from a previous version, good catch, i'll get that updated

Bora5, I do not know how that plugin works yet, but I will work to see if I can make the mod compatible.

Yeah took me forever to realize that this was the problem. Soon they are implementing mod stacking.

Im trying to run this on my server and when it first starts people can join for about 20 seconds to a minute, but then everyone dc's and noone can reconnect. and anyone that was trying to conncet get timed out. Any suggestions? Ive installed and switched between a couple mods before so i know i did it right.
Azrael  [developer] 29 Jul, 2015 @ 4:31am
I'm sure you did it right, I would suggest a re-load of your map and Primal folders. Delete them, re-verify files, then upload them to the server. That should fix your problems.

Do you know if this will work with the new update that just came out?
Azrael  [developer] 29 Jul, 2015 @ 4:35am
It will work... how well, I'm not sure. I would not expect it to be smoothe though since they have updated mod functionality. Until the devkit is updated, there will be issues.
