That's partially why I went ahead with the Workshop page. Hopefully if it becomes popular enough it'll get their attention that way. And if they tell me to take it down, I'd do so in a heartbeat. I'd be saddened, since this is a mod that I've wanted to make for a long time (and the fact Doom 4 is on the horizon is a happy accident), but it's not worth pissing off a company that I actually quite like.
That said, I refuse to retool this model into something more original. I wanted it to be the BFG, and I have a lot of fondness for the Doom series, and I think bastardizing it into something that wouldn't be a breach in copyright would make it lose a lot of it's charm.
Tl:dr- Yes, as it stands now, this submission isn't at all endorsed by Bethesda, and it could be DMCA'd at any time. I tried to ask permission first and was ignored, would be thrilled to talk to Bethesda about it sometime. And I won't change it to avoid copyright.
"Blingin' Frying Gun 9000" or something like that.
In true internet fashion, I will format my reply with an out-of-context panel from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure:
