Cavalry OP
I was playing as a "vassal" to the french empire, and i was battling some nation that uses horses for like every troop. So i would set up my line infantry and they would fire at the charging cav, and most of them miss. Which is fine since muskets are extremely inaccurate. But then the cav would reach my line and just tear my whole army to pieces. I would outnumber there army 2:1 and still lose.

Yeah, cavalry IS op because of stupidity of soldiers. I have mixed regiment of British fusiliers and 95th/60th and they cant even make a square formation :( they just keep firing and dying. So maybe if developers could make better AI, it will might be more balanced.

yeah and give horses less health. My guys usually hit the horse instead of the person riding, but the horse can take like 3 shots before going down. It should only take one to bring it down.

It's almost impossible for horses to not die in one shot in the mod.

No. I'v had to shoot a horse 2 or 3 times before it went down.

cav is extremely op dude, makes line infantry pointless

Agreed

musketsw do at lest 80 damage horses have 80-100 hitpoints usually. Its the inability to hit the cav with muskets or bayonets that makes them op
Jackson  [developer] 18 Aug, 2015 @ 11:30am
All of the horses have 50 hitpoints.
austin 18 Aug, 2015 @ 1:59pm
Ok well i definitely hit a horse with 79 damage, and it didnt go down
Undertaker 18 Aug, 2015 @ 7:52pm
no doc, some horses have upwards of 165 hp
Undertaker 18 Aug, 2015 @ 7:52pm
with armor
Jackson  [developer] 19 Aug, 2015 @ 12:26am
None of the horses have armour. Some might get armour with the item modifiers but the ones the AI use don't have such modifiers.

The cav is op. The only way i can think of fixing it was to have horses die when they hit bayonets like in Napoleonic Wars, since the line infantry is too retarded to use their bayonets correctly. I ever tell you of the time that i had over 60 line infantry in a single battle and they had 10 cav yet somehow my entire 60 men army died from one charge?

I would also like to point out the ai can't hit for ♥♥♥♥, i even tested it by letting 10 of my troops hit at one man and they missed litterally every shot.

The inf is just fine. Im used to the commanderbattle commands of napoleonic wars and this mod works perfeclty fine. the ai is doing exactly what i want them to do, without any problems. hold fire, cav go there and wait for further orders, musketeers form a triple rank etc etc. all fine and smooth. the cav is just as dangerous as in warband vanilla, also how i guess it would be in RL tbh.

a great job you did there docm30!

To be honost guys, i have had no problem with Calv, either they get completely wiped out as they charge towards my Line Inf or i just tell my line to go into Square Formation and it works fine. If the calv do reach my line, its olny about 5 or 6 of them and my Line Inf easily takes them out. For you guys who don't know the formations of the Era, the square formation is used against Calvery charges, so if you see a Charge coming just send your units to a square formation.
