Sinking vehicle fix??

I still love esseker, as do a lot of people. Playing it on a live multiplayer server is a bit painful though. Every time the vehicles sinks, a player falls out of love with the map.
Is there any fix at all for this issue. I understand why it happens, I was wondering if anyone knows how to stop it.
