Wearing Glasses / Wearing Hearing Aid Negative Traits?
What do these actually do? Note that you can only see these after you die once and make a new character.

Hard of hearing reduces your volume level and range and wearing the hearing aid counters it. this link lists all the traits and their effects.

I'm asking about the negative (red) traits you can apply when re-making a character after installing this mod. Are these just free trait points then, with literally no reason not to take them?

Hearing aid should technically require batteries and ear drops to function well, eye drops have no use since there are eye glasses but again they are not presciption but work and no way of needing to be replaced. No idea if hearing aids ever use the ear drops since that negative trait is harsh. Eye glasses should function like armour that takes damage when you are damaged in the head.

But if you don't take the negative traits that alter eye sight and hearing, taking these are just +2 traits each with no negative, right? So no one should ever NOT take these negative traits as far as I can tell.

Keen hearing and Eagle eyes are better than taking the negatives for free points,

Keen hearing let's you detect behind your back in a small radius combined with Eagle eyes wider view cones and it's easier to spot things. Very Impossible to be bitten/axed/knifed in the back with Keen hearing and Eagle eyes. Pacifist would do better if you don't mind levelling combat skills 25% slower

Ok but, what I'm saying is, "Wearing Glasses" and "Wearing Hearing Aid" has literally no downsides as far as I can tell, so there's no reason everyone shouldn't just kill themselves once, make a new character, grab these "negative" traits and get a total of +4 points to play with, right?

Edit: Again, to clarify, I'm talking about the TRAITS with the names "Wearing Glasses" and "Wearing Hearing Aid" in character creation that don't appear the first time you create a character but do appear when you re-create a new character with this mod after death, at least in multiplayer.

No, these debuffs give "Myopic" and "Weak Hearing". I don't know why they were added.
