Modding Help
Hello Flippetized, I was checking out your mod and I was impressed with how well done it is. I'm trying to learn how to mod myself, and currently I want to see if I can make a version of your Sword Storm Rage power that is applied to arrows that does sort of the same thing, but instead of teleporting the player to the target I want it to drop the swords on the target when the arrow hits them. Unfortunately, I can't seem to figure out how your mod does that, and I was wondering if you would be willing to give me some pointers as to how it works? I'm assuming it's part of the script, but I'm not sure.

Hey Zeraxen. From my experience (honestly not that much) the only way I could think of triggering SOMETHING happening (like the swords falling) is if it was a spell. I don't know how to "catch" the event of an arrow from a bow hitting a target.

From what I've been able to figure out by making "enchanted" arrows, the easiest way to trigger "enchantments" placed on arrows is to set the Delivery to Contact, but you also have to create a magical effect linked to an enchantment linked to an explosion linked to a projectile that's finally linked to the ammunition itself. I'm honestly not sure how your mod spawns the swords; is it via the script? Did you write the script yourself? I tried to decompile/edit the scripts, but right now my knowledge of modding is strictly limited to CK items/effects, I know nothing about scripting. I did manage to put your script into an arrow, but when the arrow hits the target it tells me "Equip a sword in your right hand"

That might be able to work (I'm not THAT knowledgable in CK). I wrote the scripts myself, and I'm spawning the swords through that. I just have to make sure I can get the actor (the caster of the spell) to blame the murder on if one of those sword happens to kill someone.

It might be easier to look at the CK wiki for tutorials on scripting. It can get confusing/misleading just trying to read a long script. I spend alot of time here, it is an invaluable resource: http://www.creationkit.com/Category:Papyrus
