Question to Complexminded about Primitive Plus Unrestricted
We see you are busy with the Official version. Could you tell us what your plans are with Primitive Plus Unrestricted ? Your ideas are awesome and alot of people want to incorporate them in to the Center map with the original engrams. I see that there are many many posts, for months on the Unrestricted version with no reply. Can you atleast let us know if it is on hold? No longer updated? etc... Thank you.

I'm not answering in his name but : I presume on the 28'th when Primitive plus becomes the second official mod ( contragts complex :) its long time comming :P ) this 2 versions will be pulled out of workshop ( same happened with The Center map ) and they will become stackable :) , so i recomand just wait a week or something like that and we will see what happens

It would be very unlikely that a Total Conversion would ever be stackable with mods that were originally coded for Vanilla. In all likely-hood, once it goes official, the Dev Kit should start including the Total Conversion within it... and then will allow other modders to Add to the TC mods, specifically for Primitive Plus.

this is all pure speculation.

According to Complex himself on the Discord channel, this is correct.

Thanks for the responses but i wasnt talking about the total conversion. A total conversion is just that (total conversion of the base game) and would not be stackable with any thing that it over writes. I was asking if he was going to still support his Primitive Plus Unrestricted stackable version.

To my knowledge, the Unrestricted is still a Total Conversion. It just does not disable certain Engrams like the Official Version does.

The information we have put forth here, still holds for ALL versions of his mod. When it comes forth as a fully integrated and supported TC then many , if not all , current problems will be fixed/updated.

Just be patient like the rest of us :)

Feyth - Last Saturday at 2:03 PM
so, any chance this will work with other mods soon?
I tried to add the engrams from cute hair mods but the primitive+ rerwites the ini on launch
ComplexMinded - Last Saturday at 2:06 PM
soon, not likely. It basically would have to be rebuilt as a standard mod, and doing that it will inevitably lose some of the functionality. Theres an "unrestricted" version that shouldnt overwrite the ini or restrict engrams. But in terms of playing nice with other mods, it will have the same issues as the restricted one.

or push them to give women more hair styles .....
ComplexMinded - Last Saturday at 2:07 PM
because both are TC's that change core ARK items. Basically a mod version would have to be created with no changes to original ark items in order for it to be compatible
but I am trying to find ways to make it more compatible..
and more hairstyles would be nice

This is from the other UNrestricted page "The major difference between this and the official is this mod doesn't restrict or enforce engrams. This allows server owners and those looking for a customizable experience to make changes to the engrams and settings." Im not looking to stack with other mods, just do what he says in quotes above. Use this stuff with the existing engrams (vanilla) that it does not overwrite like the book case etc... If you read the other thread we have been patient for months and no one is being impatient. What you posted above is pertinent to this one not the other and he even points to using the unrestricted version. Problem is it dosnt work and there are alot of threads about it over there with no responses.

What I have posted is pertinent to both. It is a Total Conversion no matter what version you are looking at. At some point in the future, it may no longer be a Total Conversion, which will make it a lot easier to keep up-to-date, but some functionality will be missing.

When the primary can be updated and working without bugs, I can assure you that the option to use ALL engrams from Vanilla will be a short step away.

Hope this clears it up...

Ok One last time. YES they are BOTH total conversions. They are NOT the same, as per the author. The Unrestricted allows the use of all the other vanilla engrams it does not over ride. But it dosnt work. Pretty simple. Not looking for it to work with ALL ! or with other MODS ! Just what the author has posted about HIS mod. No where in my post did i ever mention other mods or stacking or any thing else you keep mentioning. Just to work unrestricted with Vanilla as the developer himself states. Please go read what he says about his other mod.
Hope this clears it up.
