Dire Bear Taming on Primitve ?
Just out of curiosity...

How are we supposed to tame a high level Bear, considering the fact that even wiki has confirmed that their Torpor is so darn high that without Tranq Darts it is literally impossible to tame a bear past level 16.

I got lucky and was able to tame a level 20 perfectly timed and he ended up with about 5% health when he went unconcious.

I tried taming a level 94 and the poor bugger died a horrible death...

Yesterday I tamed lvl 116 using primitive crossbow.

Did you by chance check its boosted stats? If so was Health one of them.

I did it three times recently, on two different servers with the mod. Three lvl 96-116 bears with a crossbow and each time success. This is not a problem if you can count the time.

tamed an 88 the other day with crossbow just have to let the torpor set in and dont spam arrows

I have tamed 3 Dire Bears with a 100% crossbow and the 4th today died using a 183 percent crossbow. The challenge is to hit it perfectly in the head everytime and avoid over hitting but enough to apply the torpor - of course repeating it several times will get the job done in the end - dont give up just yet.

I am so glad to know this information. The dire bear is my favorite animal in ARK and I can't wait to get one on this new server we started playing on.
In regards to taming the bear, can we use honey to tame it or do we need kibble or prime meat?

Direbears do not have a headshot bonus to torpor. And yes most of the time you will be killing a bear before you get enough shots in.
