Feel your pain. Takes me about 6-7 mins to load on a pretty beefy machine. My gf takes about the same, but half the time the first load crashes with the video driver and then she has to load a 2nd time. Almost 15 mins for her to get in sometimes.

I timed it today and it took 8 mins. But like I said, last night my roommate took 20 mins. I was just wondering if it was my server or just me. Thanks tho

Keep in mind this is just a guess.

I think what is happening is that everytime you log in the game redownloads at least part of the mod, if not all of it. I believe it is done this way so that he can make minor changes without having to push upates to the workshop all the time. However if this is not the case, then what the hell.

I hope its not downloading it again. I have a metered connection :/ and that would be stupid. I took a break from Ark last summer and ended up uninstalling because of all the downloaded updates every day. Stupid monopolized ISP in my area only giving 350GB a month! I'm a gamer dontcha know! >:O

If its really re-downloading assets every time I connect I may have to just take it off my server. Players might not be happy but I'm not gonna pay for a server I cant play on.

With any luck Complexminded will see this and give us the actual reason the load takes so long.

Yeah they're the only "Highspeed internet provider" in my area. Its pretty fast considering that my town is barely a blip on the map. 100Mbps down and 20 up actually clocking around ~93/18 for only $40 a month including a tv package for my wife definitely aint bad. But that metered connection is where they get ya. You're billed for overages..

But yeah I'm hoping he sees it too.

Don't worry guys he is aware of this and currently working on it as you can see at discordapp post (https://discordapp.com/channels/155486465453719553/155486624740802560). Also i read i was moving to a new place on 14th so it's understandable that it takes a bit to set it all up :)
