How to disable Mod Crates?
I have a problem with them. I need to disable them because they are too overpowered and cause a 1 second game pause followed by insane lag on some maps!

A year later and I just wanted to say I'm having the same issue. I'm going to leave a regular comment about it but I found the source, I think, of the lag spike. I built right near 50, 50 on Crystal Isles, and every time a mod crate spawns, there's what looks like an Industrial Forge that falls from the sky. It makes a dying mammoth (I think?) sound, smashes into the ground and breaks apart. Since I built at 50, 50 this is happening in front of my house EVERY time a mod crate spawns, lol.

For me, it was a massive Large Storage Box.
