Please stop quickfixing this mod!!!
Hey Exodus :)

I'm running this mod on 24/7 unofficial server now for 10 days or so...

The release of 0.9.2 had a few people call on me to update the server...

so I did that. One a nitrado server and a normal ADSL line, that takes an hour at least.

Then an hour later you came out with 0.9.3, and I had to start over.

Please don't quickfix the mod!! Make another release on Steam Workshop to be your beta release, you can update that whenever you wish. I'll help thoroughly test it...

Anyway, under version 0.9.3

I got all egg based dinos to spawn the way I want except Argent and Dilo...

Are we sure the name of the species is right? Could you please check once more for Argent and Dilo specifically?

it's not like there's a logfile... :(

as I was writing this, a new release of Baby Mods 0.9.4 came out...

My players can't access to the server anymore...

There's no automation or command lines to download mods for servers, much less a linux server... I have to log into ark, to complete the install, then got into my folders, take the mod files, put them into a zip file, upload them to my server, saveworld on server, kick everyone off, shutdown server, replace the mod files, and start up the server again.

Everytime you make an update.

Please make a second mod, which I don't have to update at 1 am every other day on my dedi server, then I'll even have time to help you on your development :)

Really a Mod update shouldnt be applied to a normal player til u enter a server that requires it. If it updates a player before the server, the server doesnt show up for that player and sometimes and a Admin might not be on for hrs and hrs to update, that is very VERY frustrating. It should be a player clicks on the server, if he need a mod update then it updates the player too get into the server. This will keep the people happy and playing.

I agree the quick fixes are going to make you lose users simply because as server owners or admins we cannot have this much down time due to 1 to 3 updates a day. Let them accumulate some, I believe the MoD users will be happy to deal with a few glitches for a few days to get 1 or two weekly good updates instead of 7+ little updates. The down time is killing us and I am close to taking the MoD off myself.

Don't take this the wrong way, Exodus, we LOVE your mod...

and we wanna help you make it and market it :)

just make a stable and a development version pls :)

We are 6 Guyes on a privat server.. And we have a lot of fun with this mod.
But....
Every Time when you start a Hotfix we coulnd play and need to wait for ouer Admin.
I work at night and wanna play over the Day. But i couldnt when you start a update every day :(

i need to wake up in the morning just for UPDATING 0.0.1 VERSION for this MOD ???
much better if you EXODUS UPLOADING TO STEAM WHEN YOU FIXING ALL THE BUG THEN MAKE THE UPDATING EVERY 0.1.0 VERSION

Took this mod off our servers at like 0.5.1 to many complaints from our community.

I'm sorry that people are removing the mod from servers, but this is a game engine issue not a blame the mod developers issue. Space Engineers, for example, checks and downloads mod changes every server start.

unfortunately he cant control how players get updates. also If he changes the time he sends out updates it will upset other people (this1 he'll never win on)

Think of it like this...I live in the UK my server is in Dallas, I have players from all over the world, now what time of day do I run mainenance/make changes

@Vespy use an FTP Client like filezilla it will at least half your time taken i myself have this down to few minutes now

1:stop server
2:delete mod folder and file from server directory
3:ftp your new folder/file to the diretory
$:start server

Bing Bang Boom done in less than 10mins...u also only have to load the game to the menu to install the new files to your own folders (not into a save like people keep saying)

i agess its so damn annoying this breaks the server i play on and i dont have the details to fix the stupid thing such a stupid ass mod and way to OP dinos should only come out at level 1 or 10 no more that that its a dam joke

just an excuse to complain if u dont like the settings change them, exodus has very graciously made it so this can be done very easily

your easy solution is go find a server that doesnt have or better still put your hand in your pocket and get your own...problem solved move on

you should also note the button at the top right of your comment called edit (usefull for making your comment readable after u posted it)

I agree 100% with this thread, i understand why the updates are happening and i greatly appreciate the devs' commitment, however my entire server is flooding with me msgs asking why the constant restarts. I love those mod but these quickfixes are killing off my players one by one.

Yeah that updates really fu*cked up ... i have os much problems with this updates all the time :/ so i have to deinstall this mod ... i always get mismatch mod version or saved mod data wiped ....

Then why is it on your server??...it shouldn't be until you and your server pop is either ready to put up with the updates or willing to wait.....its a beta mod for christ sake
