Baby Dinos Enhanced v0.13.1 (No Longer Supported)
This topic has been pinned, so it's probably important

HOW THIS WORKS......
I see alot of people asking questions and thought maybe a tiny guide would suffice to help out.

Baby Dino's work like this:

1) Get an egg of desired dinosaur. Or the DNA of desired mammal.

2) Make nest of desired dinosaur( or use incubator if your high enough)(Or use DNA sequencer) Nest is given at the same lvl as the saddle is given for that dino.

3) Insert the egg (I recondmend one at a time but I am cautious as this mod is in the works).

4) Insert 100 mejo berries(or meat if its carni) (100 may not be necessary but the nests do use berries/meat while they are hatching , just like your taming a dino just not as many berries, so keep an eye on them). (DNA sequencer is a put it in and wait, like the nest)

5) Wait the prescribed hatching time (a few minutes to hours). The baby dino will appear within a short range of the nest.

5a) Choose to tame the baby now (it will still grow into an adult) or wait. Once it becomes an adult you will have to tame it again.

6) Wait prescribed growing time. This takes some minutes to many hours. During which the baby will walk around and may need protection or "caged" up if you can(this is somewhat buggy).

7) Put meat or berries(depending on dino) on your last hot bar slot. When adult dino appears walk up to it and press "E" as if you are going to passive tame it and BOOM! it is yours.

What to expect:

* When you do the actual tame you will get max bonus lvls.

* After tame you can lvl your dino up normally to the max tamed dino level allowed on your server.

* Babies walk around alot so trying to pen them somehow is a good idea.....penning them does not always work though- this is known to the mod maker so no need to spam reports as some are doing. OR, you can now choose to tame the baby so it can follow and it will still grow into an adult.

* If you don't like the times , grow times are now adjustable, see the appropriate thread in discussions.

Here are the particulars.................................

Just updated to reflect .7 update time change.
AceOfSpades 31 Aug, 2015 @ 2:11pm
Added new info about taming baby dinos, cleaned up some bad spelling and entries no longer applicable to the mod.
Tinywulf 31 Aug, 2015 @ 3:08pm

really like the mod, but 2 things, are the normally hostile dinos IE T-Rex's and Argents hostile when they fully mature or are they neutral, I need to know if I am to keep them in the same pen or move them into a capture structure I built, also level 179 at birth is way OP can you fix that?

I am not the mod dev so maybe not best place for the question but think I can answer for Exodus. I have not personally done a rex or argent but I have done a raptor and after it became an adult I just quickly ran up to it and clicked "E" so I will then assume it either spawns as a non aggro adult or I was fast enough to click E before it aggroed ( I did to it face to face not from behind btw) from that I will assume that rexes and argents are either non aggro or if you at least catch it right when it turns adult then you will be ok.

The dino lvl may possibly be editable through the ini providing ark gives the ark dev kit the proper ability to with the next dev kit update. So hopefully Exodus will be able to provide more user/server adjustability.

@speedy1247 I have the AI for the dinos to be none aggressive unless it is provoked. I am working on a way to make the dino level something that is customizable. I am currently waiting on the new dev kit to be released.

@AceOfSpades Thanks! I'm hoping to add a lot of customization options when the newe dev kit is released.

Although I specified meat/berries for the tame I did not insert berries/meat for the hatching. You put meat or berries in the nest depending on type of dino. I corrected the entry in the OP, thanks.

@Damadogg This changed in version 0.7. Now depending on the type of dino will depend on what it needs to hatch.
Damaddog 3 Sep, 2015 @ 12:34pm
