Advanced Welding - detaching and reattaching blocks!
[BUG] Welding + Detaching
I welded a salvaged battery onto my base to charge while I figured out what to do with it and when I went to go an detach it, it remained stuck in the air as if it was stuck in the terrain. Mind you it was NOT stuck in the terrain, but it sure acted like it. Restarting did not return the functionality I expected. Maybe some weird interaction between grounded stations and advanced welding? So far doesn't seem to change anything with vehicle welds.

Hmmm it sounds like the issue is a combination of static grid and a world setting that keeps grid splits to remain static.
For now you can turn the grid dynamic in its terminal info tab, until I find some way to do it automatically.

The "Unsupported stations" setting is described as "By enabling this option grids will no longer turn dynamic when disconnected from static grids."
I'm not sure if I should go against this setting by forcing only my splits to be dynamic :lunar2020thinkingtiger:

And even with that off I think you can still have stations in space designated static by admins if you need that sort of stuff.
Sweet! Thanks for the timely response. I just ended up dismantling the batteries since it wasn't really all that much of a loss (free parts in the first place) but I'll keep that in mind if things get stuck again. Hopefully I remember to not weld random things I find to my base and only to ships. :D Loving Advanced Welding and Build Info btw. Keep up the awesome work. <3

Little bit of an update, it kinda seems like it's something about the surface of the planet that causes blocks to think they're attached and static. Grinding down a layer of blocks closer to the planet result in the remaining top piece to become dynamic. Seems like something that you probably can't change if the game thinks they're in the terrain even though they're technically floating.

Yes, I can only really use their voxel detection thing and if that is failing then mine will too xD

It's probably a corner of the block's boundingbox that is inside voxels, I don't think it cares about the visual or physical model in this case as it would be expensive to check.
