Feedback
Hi guys,

I'm opening up this discussion thread for anyone who wishes to provide critical feedback on the mod so far.

Please be honest - I won't know what definitely needs changing or fixing (e.g. icon art, key symbols, missing icons, misplaced icons etc) unless somebody raises an issue which either makes light of something that I do not yet know of, or confirms my suspicions.

Well, I can only say for those civs I have saves for. Eastern icons look really great here, but I dont have Eastern save ready. Only celtic, greek and roman.

So, from those I chose those I like best.

5/5
Celtic temples
Goldsmith chain(celtic?), especially tier 3 and 4(gaul amulet)
both greek and celtic water chains

4/5
Coin maker
Greek library
pit mine
muster field
Greek temples
roman archery

Best icons "tell the story" without having to figure out what it is, and they are discernabe without having to look harder. Unfortunately, CA polished this game for more action oriented players, not builders and micromanagers, thats why building icons are so small - to leave more space for main campaign window. In some older games, UI could cover up to 1/3 of window, and here in Rome 2 its only 1/5. AFAIK we cannot increase UI size (would be great if we could), so it is important to keep players sight safe - it is known fact that eye automatically tried to discern "entire picture", and if that picture is too small then its harmful for sight in long term.

Thanks for the feedback, and I agree completely about the eyes straining on (some) of the icons. Unfortunately, you cannot change the UI size of the icons - I think it's practically impossible. If it is possible to do in any way, then it'd require a tonne of work for just one person to do as you wouldn't be changing just the icons themselves, you'd be looking at making an entire UI overhaul, which I'm not willing to do.

Besides some of the barbarian settlement chain icons, which you already mentioned before on the comments section, are there any other icons that you believe ought to be changed (i.e. the ones you'd give a 1/5 or a 2/5 on a 1 - 5 scale)?

Hi Benjin, really appreciate the work you've put in to this, probably the best UI mod available on the Rome 2 Workshop. Anyways, although there may be icons that you want to improve upon, I would like to humbly suggest that you finish replacing the remaining vanilla icons before improving your existing ones. Even your worst icons are vastly superior to vanilla.

Yes, that is what I plan on doing - the next ones will be the barbarian religious tree icons that I left out (Germanic, Iberian, Balkan, Nomadic etc) and then some of the Level V / pre-EE icons (which are still in use in campaigns such as the Prologue and Hannibal at the Gates).

However, while I am working on the new icons, I'd like to get a list of the ones that people believe are bad / need changing so that when I get to that stage, I can get to work on them immediately.

Hi Benjin, I think you've made a great job on this mod (and on your other mod), I've been seeking a mod like this from the moment I play to Attila. I constat this mod is not your priority but i think you should "update" the mod to make or convert icons for the recent DLC like for the Rise of The Republic or Desert Kingdoms. I have seen some details remaining (quester for Empire Divided and level V building in the wrath of Sparta).

I thank you again for your great mods.

I think it would be a great idea to have a larger picture of the building when right clicking for the description, this would make it a lot easier to see, and it would also add material to the large dormant space in the detailed description panel. Also I think it would be beneficial to make the border colours more apparent on the UI, as it would be easier to see the type of building
