L96 / AI AW
They're the same gun according to Military Factory[www.militaryfactory.com] and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accuracy_International_Arctic_Warfare

Unless you'd want to change one of these to one of the other mnodels firing say, .338 Lapua

And despite being the same firearm, (the AI AW's only difference a de-icer?), they cant use each others magazines, which, according to the references, souhld be 10 rounds not 5...

Just a thing I noticed :)

They aren't entirely. As both those pages state: The L96 is the military designation for the AI-PM (Precision Marksman), not the AI-AW. The british military variant of the AI-AW is the L118.

Beyond the deicing and weather related changes to the design, there a few other minor differences. The original AI-PM used dovetail (not picatinny) rails, had a set of fixed backup iron sights, and lack of any sort of muzzle break/flash suppressor (note variants of the L96 included some of these design changes between the AI-PM and AI-AW)

As for the magazines, your correct it should be 10 rounds for 7.62/.308, and 5 for .338 Lapua. Not sure how it got listed at only 5. Clearly that needs correcting.

However both use the same AICS Short-Action magazine system and are fully compatible.

Ok, thanks for the corrections, didn't realise those were the differences :D
Hope to see the 10 round mags plus compatibility in future :D
