How to get it working for build 42: [Credit to Float]
Solution was posted by Float in comments, here is a more in-depth guide on how to fix this:

1. Locate the MoreBuilds directory, potentially here:

DRIVE:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid\steamapps\workshop\content\108600\515555911

OR:

DRIVE:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content\108600\515555911

2. Open the "mods" folder, then the "MoreBuilds" folder.

3. Drag the "media" folder into the "42" folder

4. Ensure in game you have the necessary tools to start building.

I dont see a 42 folder, do i make my own or am i looking in the wrong place for it

@Xanadu @Jarv3n i figured it out by getting to the files a different way. i went to my C drive and opened up the Program Files (x86) folder, then Steam>steamapps>workshop>content>108600>515555911>mods>MoreBuilds. this is where you'll find a few folders, including the "42" and "media" folders. just drag the media folder into the 42 one :)
