Big Raft
Anyone having problems where dinos random fall through/drown?
I built the barge and put a layer of stone foundation over it and it has been working fine but lately since ive put more dinos on it seems to be bugging out- the fall through the floor but not completely through the barge and drown?? Is there a weight limit or something. using on valhalla map.

How many dinos have you put on it. I had 3 Megaloceros, 2 Parasaurs, 3 wolves, 2 cats, a argen, and a rex on it and nothing fell through. I'm also using the Valhalla map

I found 2 ways dino's can fall through.

1, if they aren't actually on the raft but instead are "clipping" through the raft. Lost a Rex that way, up in the frozen north when I started navigating through the ice chunks.

2, if you pass over a rock or something that is taller than the "floor" of the raft it can drag them off the rear. Lost a Steg that way, but thankfully it stayed on the rock so I was able to recover it.

Theoretically lag could also cause a dino to "fall behind" and end up off the raft, expecially when moving a lot of dino's at once. Another theoretical cause could be not having them set to stand still. (Do not follow, Do not wander, Passive agression)

i think its the first one, clipping through walls already
i have 30 dilos, 7 carnos, 5 trikes, 5 frogs, and tons more. "dont feel liek full listed lol". have atleast 120+ dinos on barge and havent had them fall threw yet. and i do move barge on occasion.

Yea... I'll usually build my barges now with a wooden ramp off the rear/front so I don't have that issue. If they walk up the ramp onto the deck there is pretty much no chance they'll be clipping through the floor and eventually fall through. It looks ugly as hell, but haven't lost a dino due to clipping since I started doing that.

As an additional note, I solved issue #2 by supplying my dino's with a "hanger bay". When they walk up the ramp they go through a gate into an enclosed (roof included) area of the floating fortress. Once the gate is closed there is no way they can be dragged off the fortress by an object that passes through it. It also protects them from long-range and air attacks.

I suppose putting a cage on your raft could also solve both problems, but it's not very nice looking.

i have my barge designed kinda like a ark. with gates as outter walls "cheaper and faster way to build lol". havent tested that yet to see if keeps them on barge. but what i did on a raft was build base couple walls in height up. then built outward. and dont need use wood ramps. u can use slopes stone or metal ramps to.

also to keep them on you can also place a dodo up on a platform. and have all dinos follow it. wont look pretty unless place dinos into stalls some how... but might help in mean time,

you guys both make good points ill probably do both thinking about using glassmetal (mode i think) which is metal looking in but glass looking out so i can see while driving :D

I have lost two animals and in both cases the barge was parked in shallow to medium deep water, while out doing things I get two screen messages, the first says my direwolf was killed by a megaldon and I had left my wolf sitting on the barge. The second msg says my scorpion drown and he was inside a structure built on top of the raft so no way he accidently fell overboard. I can only assume somehow they clipped thru the barge to their deaths.
