Installing/Updating this and any other mod
ok so here is the method ive been using on a rented server(this method can be adapted to all types of dedicated server) if installing for the first time skip steps 1 and 3 remembering to stop your server

1:unsubscribe from the mod you want to update (making sure to navigate to \steamapps\workshop\content\346110 and also \shootergame\content\mods and delete the mod folder with the corresponding id and the .mod file from your personal files (this is important))

2:subscribe to the mod wait for it to download then load the game to main menu and wait for it to finish installing(can take a lil while so be patient) then exit the game

3:stop your server then navigate to \shootergame\content\mods and delete folder for the mod with the corresponding id and the .mod file(if you dont have the files skip this step but still stop your server)

4: Open your ftp client and log in to your server. Navigate to \shootergame\content\mods both locally and server side, if the Mods folder does not exist on the server then create it, next, upload the local .mod file and folder to your server.

5.to add the mod to your commandline im going to assume you already have the basics set up for your server just add the id like shown in the example. If you are adding multiple mods after the first id add , then the next id and so on there should be no spaces

rented servers will have an option called 'commandline manager' click it add new then just simply add the id into the box for mods

"TheIsland?Port=----?QueryPort=-----?MaxPlayers=70?RCONEnabled=True?RCONPort=-----?GameModIds=519998112?listen"

this is the guide i used to make my commandline for those that dont have 1

6:start your server.

The suggested alterations below are as per request from author and are in no way a criticism of the write-up performed above.

Hi there, looks good, the only thing I would change in step 4 is you are assuming all FTP clients are the same. Not all have the same layout nor credential setup. I would just tell people to log in to their ftp client (because if they are attempting to do this they must know how to use ftp right?) and where to upload the .mod file and folder from and to.

Something like this:

4: Open your ftp client and log in to your server. Navigate to \shootergame\content\mods ) both locally and server side, if the Mods folder does not exist on the server then create it, next, upload the local .mod file and folder to your server.

About the mod id entries for starting the server. It only actually needs to be in one of the two locations, sure, you can do both, it won't harm anything, just more work to do especially if you change and test mods a lot like I do. If in both locations and one is different from the other I believe the command line argument will take precedence over that of the ini file entry.
On my server I have ~ 20 mods, I only ever modify the command line argument in the batch file.

So im new to this and a little confused... we rent a server through Nitrado.com. So every time there is an update I need to uninstall, then reinstall the mod instead of clicking "update" in server settings?

u should do that everytime anyway if ur not confident with these processes :)
and ugh nitrado...make a simple task overly complicated lol

with that being said though the game only uses those files while its loading the server so u could actually copy over the mod files while the server is running (not recomended unless u know what ur doing) but u must delete the mod files if an author removes content ive had alot of issues from left over files
