It shows the bar stating that you need to find a male to mate and it even states on the page for the mod that you can nest as a pteranodon, but mating doesn't start no matter how close I am or for how long.

I will stand overlapping a male on the ground for over a minute and mating never starts and have tried flying with them and using right click and C.

I can make nests, but I can't mate. Empty Nest Syndrome! It turns out you can stack nests like Cheerios!
