Awesome, but copyright :I
This hat looks awesome, and I would totally buy it just to wear it on trade servers and stuff. Its unique enough to be in the game. The problem however, is that the lego company might find out and sue Valve.

Or maybe not. Just a thought.

I heard an inkling hat from splatoon was going to be added, but valve stated that they couldn't due to copyright reasons. This may be a problem for this hat too.

The name might be a problem, otherwise the hat seems to be fine in all. It doesn't seem to be based on Lego, just the name. It could be a generic building block company. All in all, the only thing wrong with it is the name.

No, it'll be fine. LEGO hasn't copyrighted circles.

I doubt it, as "The Master Builder" could apply to a lot of things and most likely can't be copywritten as just a general script line in the movie. Also, the copyright is on LEGO(tm) itself, so long as you don't put that name on the hat or any other company sepecific name, you should be fine. There's a lot of cheaper brands that have the same brick designs, just different names on them. Then again it's corperate America and you never know for sure.

"The Lego Group has attempted to trademark the "Lego Indicia", the studded appearance of the Lego brick, hoping to stop production of Mega Bloks. On 24 May 2002, the Federal Court of Canada dismissed the case, asserting the design is functional and therefore ineligible for trademark protection.[10] The Lego Group's appeal was dismissed by the Federal Court of Appeal on 14 July 2003.[11] In October 2005, the Supreme Court ruled unanimously that "Trademark law should not be used to perpetuate monopoly rights enjoyed under now-expired patents." and held that Mega Bloks can continue to manufacture their bricks."

That's pretty stupid. Everyone is free to build their own brand of building blocks. Some do it fine while others don't., and it's up to the consumer to figure out what brand is good for them and at what price.

For me, it's Kre-O.

Don't think it will, it doesn't include the brand name or logo anywhere

Many items in tf2 could be subject to copyright like the batsaber (just to name one) so this should be fine if things like that are added.

Lego might be cool with it. After all Valve did do a collab with Lego already.

Portal and Lego Dimensions, yes.

So I see nothing wrong with Lego wanting to do something with TF2...

Looks like I was sort of wrong, I thought major companys would try to shill every penny they can, much like IBM. Guess lego isn't so bad after all...

Three Words: Unlicensed Plumber's Cap
True, they might sue valve if they do add this, but who knows.

If Lego could sue over something so simple (and win), I'm sure Mega Bloks would have been out of business long ago.

Lego can leave it nintendo is known for being stupid with copy right I think they will be more chill they can just leave it as a sorta promo item I guess if there are any problems.

Last time I checked, Lego doesn't hold the original lego patents. I mean mega bloks is clearly in business since Lego no longer has that hold on the market so it should be fine.
