Left 4 Dead 2

Bad Neighborhood
Kyle's Review of "Bad Neighborhood" - 2/5
Extremely inconsistent despite showing promise. 2/5 stars.

Bad Neighborhood is a roller coaster of quality. Many interior areas are highly detailed and compelling to explore, especially the school in Map 2, but outdoor sections tend to show extreme dips in polish. Every venture outside is like being transported to another world, one much emptier than where you were just a moment ago indoors.

The level design, however, is consistently unfriendly to the player. Getting stuck on props is a regular occurrence for both players and bots. Map 1 features a never-ending horde from start to safe room, without the supplies to cope. The finale is generous with its supplies by comparison, but it's in a massive, dimly lit, empty field that takes whole minutes to traverse, and you're never in any danger because every zombie takes whole minutes to reach you in return.

This campaign is fully playable and it has its bright spots, but with so many issues, I can't recommend it in its current state.
