Pirates des Iles can be very handy when your teammate is being dueled out of position.

You should fill your slots with Bronzed Forged Cannon or sqeeze in some Fire-stone Cannons or
Wild Axes depending on the money.

Then by about 9min-12min, you will be buying endeavor for team gold gain. Your role now will be fire support and tank. Because you did not invest in any weapons at this stage. You will be very tanky. You should always go in and help tank hits for your teammates. Your first skill has a long cast time. You should use it on large waves of creeps when you need that money or follow up your teammates CC for extra damage and 1s CC. The weapon you will be getting now is Cannon of Faith. This weapon is very good at this range. You will not grab money from your carry but can dish out a lot of damage in team fights.

Depending on the enemy team's composition, you will be buying a compass for blinking out when you are no longer tanky enough to survive. Most of the time, when you have 1 Cannon of Faith.

Once the game go into late game, when you have 5 Cannon of Faith and 1 compass. You should either save money for ships or better weapons.

Queen Anne's revenge is very good against enemy carry. You will dagger in and sheep their carry to mute his damage, and use your ult to do as much as possible, tank, die and tank after you die for the team.

Black Pearl is also very good since you will be the only one who doesn't need to spend money on weapon upgrades. Your team can focus on fire power while you tank the team up, go in aoe stun and win team fights.

If however, the game is still not done at this stage. You should buy items that best suit teamfights.
1 Flame of the Phoenix if your team doesn't have one.
1 Cannon of Corruption if your team doesn't have one.
1 Fish Keel for tanking.
1 Thetis' Repair Wood for extra HP to tank.
