No hire staff member option

When i start my kingdom when i have a companion as my minister, the staff member hire option dosen't show for some reason. Can anyone confirm that?

Sorry, I didn't answer you question, discussions only show so many at a time (which is annoying). If you cannot hire anybody at first, you most likely do not have enough denars to do so.

i did have enough denars. had about 5.6k denars. but it option dosen't show up fo some reason.
