[EEM] Exploration Enhancement Mod

Current state of EEM [Update #3]
Hi, all, I've been seeing way too many questions about if the mod is going to be updated and requests to update it over and over and over again. From what I know[which is because I actually read the comments section], at this time the mod *IS* being worked on by the creator, as he's contacted/contacting the person who helped him with scripting.

You guys need to /be patient/, updating a mod this big isn't going to take an hour, it's going to take several days to a week from my experience. I've worked on mods similar in size to this for other things, and it takes a while. Please! Be patient! It'll come!

[UPDATE]

The mod is working now, it has been updated multiple times. Enjoy it! Have fun! Give Leon and Thrax your thanks and some ♥!

[UPDATE #2]

The mod is currently being worked on by the devs, and it is very much broken at the moment as of the 30th of March, on Saturday.

[UPDATE #3]

Less broken, it appears, but there are still some issues afaik.

New update should be out within the next few days (currently in testing to make sure the major issues are fixed). It's not perfect, but it's back online. What we'll need after it's posted is a good list of issues that the users would like to see addressed.

As a note, trading is still broken. That's a known issue that'll be addressed in the next update. I figured getting the mod mostly online was better than waiting for trading to be restored.

Yeah, they're doing some wonderful work.

I've got trading back online (scripts updated, move off timers, screen updates fixed) with one station so far, but it's a pretty manual task to update the prefabs / fix the trade scripts. It should all be functioning properly within the next few days though.

which station is that?

Whenever you finish with that, you might want to take a look at SessionCore and do some optimizing. Whatever is running on the session component is running really heavy even idling. Anywhere between 10-20% simulation load increase on average with a 7700K at 4.5-4.8ghz, which is enormous. This is with no active EEM npc's in the world, just with the overhead script running.

Woof. That's a big overhead, and for a very powerful processor. :hatty:

Just wanted to chime in that I'm glad to see this being worked on. You probably understand as I do, that after a certain point.. there needs to be more to do/interactivity. Your mod is a lot of fun, but it needed/needs some love. Thanks!

Yeah, Leonser told me about this the other day. Looking into this comes right after I get the rest of the trade scripts working. I have a feeling its the faction system causing the overhead, but we'll see. Step one was always to get EEM back online, step two is to optimize existing code.

@Brenku Yep, there is a lot of plans for the future, but there is also a lot to do right now, and the dev team isn't the largest (Leonser and myself). Hang tight though!

X99 is the only one with fixed code right now, but I think Leonser is waiting to deploy until I have all trade scripts fixed. So it'll still be a few days before anyone sees the changes.
