Not as forgiving as thought...
(Had to post here, some reason Steam wont let me post in the comments, only the "Discussions" Forum...)

Still need foundations, was under the impression that we could place anything anywhere, but it lets you build like up against a cliff, which without this mod is impossible, so the mod is still very helpful, thanks :)

there's also a slight work around if you're only playing single player (though it's techincally a cheat):

1) select foundation (or any structure) that you'd like to place
2) hover the structure wiremesh where you'd like it to go, obstructed pink or otherwise
3) [esc] > "Exit to Main Menu"
4) when you load the game, your tile will be there where you last had it. Fully textured meshed with the cliff and everything.

I found this out accidentally, but no glitches yet. It takes time but damn does it look better when your structure meshes with the environment. Frank Lloyd Wright would be proud... though my wood cabin on the bay is certainly no Taliesin West!

Hey LordEvilDIE,

Sorry now I read it back the description needs work. I will update it tomorrow with the next version, the mod only removes the collision check so you can't go too over the top it should just help to tidy up the rough edges ;)

Kyle,

How does this handle the indoor/outdoor shelter mechanic? If I'm blended into a cliff for instance... will I still be "sheltered from the elements" in terms of my Hypothermic Insulation, for instance? (Not that that mechanic is fool-hardy yet, I have a closed up home and it still doesn't work all of the time :steammocking: )

Nice one! And yeah I just run local single player... I did find another mod that pretty much lets you place anything anywhere as long as there's at least one foundation or fence foundation but the prob with that one is if you accidentally place a structure like a ceiling on top of an existing ceiling, BOOM they all go down like a house of cards lol. but it's good for small bridges and the like... So with this mod and the other mod "Corrected Structures" can pretty much do what ever you want :)

Hi Lt Kaname,
Well on my test base the rocks are hidden on the inside by a false wall and that seems to work but I would need to move into the snow area to do a real test. Leave it with me will try to do this over the weekend and report back.

Yeah, I'm standingy by. I'll test it out as well. I don't know what the criteria within the code to deteremine if a player character is "indoors" and thus displaying the house logo. It is glitchy at best to begin with. The unfortunate thing is the indoor/outdoor criteria is a bit, and is worked into gameplay accordingly. If you have the house +100 hypothermal insulation (or whatever the number is), but if it goes away regardless of if you're standing under cover, you no longer have the bonus. So it doesn't truly scale with your environment around you (like perhaps stealth and cover mechanics do in other game) and the insulation system isn't quite as dynamically robust as they tout in the literature.
I think the bonus depends on what your using for your house, though I'm not sure, but I think I've found that living inside a stone house instead of a thatch one gives a greater bonus comparably

I played around with it a little this weekend. When structure is collided with say a cliff, you can still get the little House/Indoors HUD icon to pop up... it is just as glitchy as when you have a "normal "structure.
