Half walls, and half way snap points
Hello
Here is my problem that I am running in to. You added the half way lower snap on the castle foundation and the half walls. That works just fine, and the half walls bring the level up to the foundation above it just fine. The problem is that I cannot attach a full ceiling to any half wall who’s foundation is in contact with another higher or lower foundation.

Please advise

had the same problem, and I mentioned it to Hog and he's going to look into it.

I've been trying to figure out why that won't snap correctly. The snap points work, but only above one tall so its perplexing why this is happening at all. Since I'm still trying to get ideas together for more inserts, what were you attempting to create with that setup? I mentioned to JDaremo that one of the new inserts could work in the meantime to create a walkable surface when using half walls. Thanks for the feedback!

I am using the Vahalla map and I have bulit up on one of the ridge lines. I was trying to use some half walls to bring up the level of the frist floor. Take a 3x3 foundation, with the last row being stair stepped down to half snap point. Then use the half walls to bring the last row to that same floor hight as the frist two rows. Then use the full ceiling to complete the floor. Your tile decks will snap in place but not the ceilings. And I've had bad luck trying to use the tile decks as flooring with out a foundation or ceiling under them. Dinos tend to sink up to mid point and I've had player crashes when alot of tiles are use with out something under them. (think buliding a bridge inbetween the 2 main land masses, useing the castel wall fence, and floor tiles. I went abit over borad on that on I think) I had to unstall the mod once, relaunch and then reinstall. Did not think much of it becuse I had used the tiles in something other than thier defined fashion.

Do not get me worng I love the added buliding options that your Mod adds. I'm waiting to see what you come up with in the future.

have you tried the new plaform pillars? they have a huge length to them (same as the bridge). I used the bridge sections to make a bridge to Herbivore Island

Good call JDaremo. People are finding a lot of uses for those pillars to fill in the blanks, (usage-wise), for my mod.

I'm having a weird snapping problem too @hogs, it's my newest screenshot on my profile. That balcony was able to snap a whole wall level ABOVE the top wall. Mid air!! haha. More of a bug than problem I should say

Pillers are not learnable for me at this time. I was waiting till next patch to see if the pillers worked before I got into trouble shooting them

I will have to take a look and see if I can get them working

@snafu263: not learnable? all the BPs are in the workstation including the pillars. or are you using the portable workstation and learning each BP?

@EliteGamer: I've noticed a couple times where pieces try to snap like that and I'm still trying to figure out why. The best I can guess is its thinking there is something in the way so it places it above that area. When it happens, its always the same height, like the right snap point, just one wall higher.
@snafu263: Sometimes a reset will open engrams up, but it could be an install issue. If you are able to craft and build things with the royal engineer's workstation like JDaremo mentioned it is likely a database issue. I've seen that happen before with properly installed mods and restarts/reinstalls usually fix the issue as wires got crossed somehow. Since its not a consistant issue I haven't been able to find a specific cause for when it happens.

@JDaremo I am learning each pattern, just my preferred play style there. I'll have to check and see if they are in the other workstation on my end.

@Hogs, I haven’t really worried about them too much but I'll try taking down the server this weekend and reinstalling the mod and let you know. I am also having a problem with another mod but I think it will be going bye-bye. If you could find some way to let the ceilings snap to the foundations, I would appreciate it.

I currently have so many things on my wish list that I am reluctant to add more duplicates of existing things like pillar foundation functionality. I can absolutely add it to my list, its just quite long at the moment. Thanks again for the feedback!

I am confused here I am not asking about any pillers. I am wondering if you can get your ceilings to snap to your foundations. That is the problem that I am trying to get resovled.

That would actually be cool to do. I was trying to connect from a structure I built up the side of a cliff to a foundation on the top of a cliff (adding in an elevator to get up there), wouldn't quite connect up and if a ceiling had a snap point on the foundation it would have just locked right in.

Ceilings won't be getting snap points to foundations. That's why I keep mentioning the pillar foundation. It was the 'foundation' piece that was designed to fill in that gap for extending out bases.

Ok, thank you.
