Current version in development: Beta v1.1

Changes that will be made are as follows:

Bug Fixes:
  • Companion dialogue error fix
  • Narfolk ship landing fix
  • Floating castle terrain fix
  • Village recruitment bug fix
  • Fix Sennigoch Serjeant troop name (was Senniogoch)

Gameplay Changes:
  • Rebalanced antagonist knight parties

And some minor stuff. I'll go in detail once I get the chance to begin development of the patch, which should start sometime tomorrow (Friday the 6th). Thank you all for your patience with 1.0. Cheers!

P.S., the Reformist recently did a video showcasing Coultchorn! Cue my squeals of glee!

Random Events and Religion!

After the release of 1.1, I decided to temporarily put aside some of the more serious development work I had planned to do and work on some minor bug fixes and add a fun new little feature: random events.

Every now and again whilst traveling the player's party may encounter a band of refugees or an abandoned cottage, and it is in the player's hands what to do next. Giving the refugees money for supplies will increase your renown but may cost a pretty penny. Robbing them, on the other hand, will net you a small sum but tarnish your image.

Additionally, I plan on adding the beginnings of a religious relations system into the mod. The player will encounter great Andrianist temples, roaming Cathon hierons, Ravakain Serpent Priests, and evangelizing Arbormen and will get to choose how to deal with them. Donating to a temple of Andrian or gifting an offering of smoked fish to a wandering Nykk pilgrim may improve your relations with a certain faith, but the ministers of other religions will take note. Likewise, you can rob members of an opposing religion for their valuable relics or have them put to death for their heresy.

The goal of these additions is to strengthen the connection the player feels to the land of Coultchorn and to make traveling a lot more eventful. To give the player room to breathe and enjoy these new features, the major factions of the land will now attack most bandit factions to ease the pressure placed on the player to fight them off alone.

The religion system will eventually expand into something far more grand I hope, but for now it's gonna be all about picking on priests. Have fun, all of you!
