Making them focused on defense and giving them cheaper conscripts and alot of resistance stealth based units.

6sp "Viva la Resistance" sapper at enemies spawn with AT & Dynamite sten gun etc,

viva la resistance 6sp mmmmmm hopefully that mechanic is possible. That sounds like a very big change to gameplay which could be exciting though maybe expliotable? since units spawn invincble. What do others think about this one? Sounds exciting to me, though not sure without testing myself.

Make their engineers more effective, by having shorter time on depolyments and more effective mines. Maybe even add a concrete bunker and some kind of trenches. And try to fit some of the 50s tanks even though it's inaccurate historically but that's how Japan was balanced out. Even their later 50s tanks are fast and lack armor with good penetrating guns though.

Free France is not an axis nation so Quick defence should be infantry with LMG and not AT.

Well I don't know what balance-philosophy DMS have since they don't tell us, but it seems in early to mid-game allies is about hitting those timers to overwhelm the axis with inf and axis have to get cheap tank kills instead.

7SP French Panther Unit. They had 50 Panthers operational in their regular army until 1950.

Possibly the AMX-50 as their Super Heavy https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMX-50.

I like the panther idea!!! a tank we rarely see... :) for obvious reasons... but sp makes it viable. I'd consider it 6 though...

the best way to fix the late game issue with France is for points they can get a Tiger that has been "appropriated" from the germans. What would be cool as a mechanic to add to competitive MOW, and it could be hard to implement but it is just an idea, for 8 special points, the french can call in any units the enemy has in a small radius. That means if the Germans call in a VT the french can "appropriate" one through their resistance and call one as well however thats costs them 8 points.

Also give the french access to the 88mm, Pak 40.

Another neat mechanic, all resistance fighters have 50% better vision and awareness, so if troops move close they are able to see better. So its harder to sneak up on the french line. It makes their early game a bit better and that will compensate for their weak late game. The mid game they will get slaughtered if they dont have a lead....

Also the panther idea is really good too and it will be better, but 6 is too cheep, with the cost at 7 it forces a player to save and they have better inf so they can trade at the start.

The vision is very interesting, that could be something I really think we can play with and implement.
In regards to the panther we decided to take it out. Due to them having too many SP tanks now. Cule made a really really sweet sherman jumbo 17pounder with great decals. We decdied to go with that to represent degaulles army going into paris.

If I can ask.. as super heavy, perhaps, a ARL 44 would be nice? There are also many games or sides to buy / port the model for it. It would be sort of a Panther / Tiger hybrid.
