Weird lights? Do you mean the dust motes? They shouldn't be too much of a problem, I don't think.

The flooded portion is a very small area of the map, and I actually don't believe the water puts out flames. Don't take my word for that, though. It's been a while since I last tested that.
I am trying to take isometric screenshot of my favorite map using camortho but the map optimization is pain in the ass :S , once I get far enought to have entire map in my field of view , all props (some brushes using func_detail as well) are already faded out by then , and all I can see is just displacements and brush geometry.
