I mean yeah if it wasn't for the fact this has absolutley zero particles on the back of the head where novas usual exhausts are and has a typical mag style frontplating. This is perfect for nova because it has zero of novas traits on the design.

Why does the helmet need to be for a specific warframe? Maybe people want a mag that looks a little bit more like a Nova? The whole point of alternate skins and helmets are to have options that look different from the default stuff...

actually things aren't as simple as that in character design and should also be implied to alternate skin. every character is unique and thinking one character can exactly look like another will only make stupid character design unless there is reason and background to it (one which alternate skin especially from 'fans' can't do, at least not canon). I won't lie, 'Inky' is actually right, it has no similarity to nova but have some sort of similarity to mag so I believe this skin will look just perfect on mag and not nova. but the case is still clear. some characteristic for some character is important and you can't just mix and match like building a frankenstein .

for example (out of wf):
-Superman and any other comic character like batman and spiderman have their own symbol as characteristic. it is stupid to change batman chest symbol to spider, it is BATman, and so otherwise.
-Comic book character also have their own costume characteristic. putting supergirl on powergirl kind of outfit will be just weird.
-Every character design has background to hint who the character is (this may lack in warframe but for some like Inaros, Saryn(?), Nidus, etc(?)). Old stuff but still relevant, Sigma FEET, I don't know about you but in character design it is not stupid to make sigma, someone with unstable mental condition, shows bare feet. as the character designer imply, he is hinting, only HINTing, that sigma is having mental condition. it is just fitting unless the character who is barefoot is someone like Soldier:78, A well trained soldier.

btw, I do know skins often derail the characteristic of the character in some case like 'Beach Themed Skin', 'Halloween', 'Summer', etc. But it is still best to keep character design knowledge like what I said. Heck, those themed skins are all basically just for fun after all and they still is unique for each character. those character with personality that is shy will rarely shows bright colored skin or skin that shows much of their skin and character that is proud of their body will show more of their body, magician kind of female character may have witch skin while tank bro might have ogre skin, etc
