Add a server setting to disable Midas duplication
I've come to really like having the Midas on my server, however I'm not a fan of it duplicating the items that it upgrades. If it's possible, I'd like to have an option to disable duplication so that any upgrades replace the original piece.

sometimes items lose quality when upgraded. its random and cant be controlled. would u want to lose your items and make it worse?

Can this be exploited? Maybe that is why my players are farming midas and hearing their cloning their items.

its not an exploit. i intended it to clone. The first time when i tested it removing the old item, it made items worse more often than better.
Hence why i made midas really rare and lower chance to upgrade.

How about making it so that they can only upgrade, and not clone? Then you could possibly have a config setting like MidasMode=(0 or 1), where 0 would be the original way it works and 1 would be this new way.

i said that there is no way to upgrade it reliably. any change might drop the quality value to poor. you will complain that midas never give you back anything good

@Hey its FATTY
@Enrell I have worked on this but will only release the update next weekend along with other changes.
What will happen is I have made a new server setting: MidasDestroy=false

If you change it to "true", it will destroy old equipment upon successful upgrade. It will not care if the equipment is better or worse, since stats are very random and hard to compare (i.e. durability increased but armor decreased).

Be warned that this might really upset players :/

@Pegi : Awesome. LOL. If they are upset, we just put the blame on you. LOL

I really appreciate you taking the time to enable something like this. This makes the midas more of a gamble now, which makes things a little more interesting. Though, to compensate for a chance at losing quality I may raise the amount of gods on the server to allow for more midas drops.

Just had a thought. You say that it's hard to compare whether or not something is better due to needing to check an items durability and armor/damage. Is there a way you could compare the quality of the item instead? For instance if I midas a piece of journeyman armor, are you able to make it recognize that it is journeyman quality and allow it to not downgrade out of journeyman quality? This would still allow for the armor to degrade, but stops the chance of going from journeyman quality to primitive quality, which would be quite a bummer.

@Hey its FATTY That's the thing, the exact quality can't be compared within the devkit, the option is not available to modders from what i can see.

@clivolivo Dont worry, the default setting will still let midas do cloning. I added this new server setting for servers that wish to disable it only. If u still want cloning to happen, u dont need to change anything.
