F.A.Q.
1. The map is like a maze, it's too confusing. Also not enough health supplies. Pls fix it.

Even if we assume that the map is a maze (which is not true unless you started playing computer games this year or was sleepy during the game and couldn't focus on the environment that always directs you the right way), this is only true for the first playthrough (2 at most). Once you finished it, you know the right way. L4D2 is about replayability. It was designed to maximize replayability with all the variability and randomization controlled by the game's AI, the Director. It is a sessional game and it's meant to be played repeatedly.

Now, it is perfectly fine if you fire up the game every now and then to run through a campaign you found on Workshop and shelve it until next finding. But you cannot blame the author for not carrying you through the map just because you want to blaze through it and forget it once finished. It's not hard to straighten the map and flood it with medkits to satisfy the casual player, but what would that do for the rest of the community that plays the game (and the map) regularly? That would just kill the tense, the challenge, the replayability factor, those things that hold up and make players coming back. This campaign was designed to offer a reasonable and fair challenge to regular players, thus, may not feel very friendly to those who are new to the game or play it in a casual way.

The campaign has been balanced over the years, and is regularly played on expert realism. It was never a cakewalk, it is long and challenging, especially on a first playthrough. But it's never unfair.

2. Hordes and special infected spawn constantly without delay, there are too many of them. Pls fix it.

The spawn rates for SI and hordes are all set to default values by the author. If you see any weird stuff happening on the map, that likely means you are playing on a modded server, which is the case almost every time you choose a third-party server to host your game. If you want to play the campaign as it was meant to be played by creator, without ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t like SI spam and other balance breaking things, you HAVE to play on local server created by you or people you join. You can choose where you want to host your game from the lobby.

3. Tanks throw exploding toilets at me. Pls fix it.

See #2.

4. Too dark pls fix it.

Turn up your ingame brightness.

5. Are there any secrets or easter eggs in the campaign?

A lot. Chapters 2, 3, 4 and 5 have hidden areas where you can find secret custom weapons.

6. The game crashes once entering the room with Jimmy Gibbs in 3rd chapter.

"Crawler" mod (mudmen replacer) is conflicting with this campaign and may cause the crash. Disabling that mod fixes it.

7. What is that recording behind the door in the lab? Where is it from?

It is sampled from Session 9 movie.

8. What is the outro music?

The Reaping by Frank Klepacki.

9. Cafeteria music?

A Summer Place by Andy Williams

10. What are the filenames for the maps?

1. dw_woods
2. dw_underground
3. dw_complex
4. dw_otherworld
5. dw_final
