For quite some time people have requested the mod without feature X or Y. The requests ranged from stupid to understandable. I was and still am reluctant to provide such a version but I will do it now. I was reluctant because it obviously requires extra work when updating and in the end will not be perfectly balanced. That is because certain idea groups are affected by features that may be voted in or voted out for the lite version. I could obviously "balance" it in a different way, but I am not going to do that. First of all because it is a lot of work and second of all because there is a reason I added "special stuff" like CBs, decision etc for certain idea groups. I know there is limitation in what you can do with comp patches and that updating them constantly can be quite painful. Same obviously goes for Paradox Patches when Paradox decides to change value X and forgets to mention it in the changelog, but I digress. So what I am going to do is. I'm going to do a lite version and you guys will be voting what's going to be in it. I'm not going to do a second lite version and I'm not going to do a module type of structure. If anyone wants to for example make a buildings addon for Idea Variation buildings for the lite version, feel free to do so, but I am not going to do it. Please do not consider this a rant. This mod has not had more subscribers ever, but lately I feel more hostility when something is changed than before. I assume that you still like the mod. In an ideal world Paradox would offer a game options system that would allow me and other modders to provide a system that is 100% compatible with other mods. I will make a suggestion at some point how this maybe could be achieved and post it at paradox forum. I'll link this as well when its done, but now without further ado the link for the survey:
