Concept Rules and Design Continuity for the Nasa Collection
If you would like to create a few of your own "Nasa" Style ships or alter any within the collection, here is a short guide to keep the realistic look and maintain design continuity across the collection.

1. Modular design: the Nasa ships should "feel" like they were launched in parts and assembled in orbit. As technology advances the parts may feel bulkier; as if sections were constructed in space, but should still maintain that modular feeling.

2. Warp Rings: The warp ring(s) should be the largest part of the ship. Nothing on the
ships should stick out farther than the ring(s).
- Smaller ships are given a 2 ring design with rings placed at the For and Aft of
the ship. -|-----|--
- Larger ships have used a single ring or stacked ring design with the ring
placed between 1/2 or 2/3 the length of the ship ------|------ or -------|---

When placing the ring(s), Imagine the Ring being the highest point of the
warp "bubble" and needs to surround the entire ship.

3: Free Energy: Almost all of my ships use Solar panels with the exception of a few
"experimental ships".

It does not need to look like the entire ship is "Solar Powered" but should still
be included showing the energy source is exploited.

Perhaps it is backup power or powering non-vital systems and experiments.
It's up to you and your imagination.

4: Continuity: Lastly and most importantly any vehicle design that works well will be
duplicated over and over and over again.

Think of a Car. 4 wheels, a motor in the front, trunk in the back,
Steering wheel, Windshield, Headlights/Taillights, side mirrors ect, ect.
While there are cars that deviate from this design almost all cars have
the same features because they work.

When designing ships I try and do the same. Start with a base model in
each size then add/take away from that design. Any major deviation is
considered an "Experimental ship." Experimental Designs on a ship can
be a "one off" or can be incorporated into designs that come after it.

If you do alter one of my designs, you are free to upload it to the workshop, I just ask that you credit and link me and my original design. I also reserve the right to link any altered ships to the Nasa Collection so everyone can enjoy (you will of course be credited with the rework)

Hope this gives you some inspiration and guidance on the collection. Happy Building everyone!
