True Concealment

The "New Dark Event" added by this mod
It's not balanced in the slightest around missions that actually require more than 5 turns to do ANYTHING, it makes VIP missions pretty much impossible, seriously, it's not a good addition, it's in fact detrimental to such a good mod, perhaps if people really want it, though I highly doubt it, leave it as a completely seperate addon or something.

I have to agree with LGS here. I only had one mission where it procced, and I did complete it successfully, but I felt like I was throwing my poor soldiers out to die. I had to do things like leave them out in the open just to cover more map, and it was kind of a miracle that no one went down. Otherwise, great mod!

You have to adjust your strategy when the dark event hits. It's definitely doable and I've gotten good feedback from people that have survived it. Bring scanners, sent someone up to activate the objective then hold out etc. This mod in general is not balanced, consider it a work in progress. My goal isn't to just give the player a freebie (which is exactly what True Concealment is right now even with the slight reduction in turns) but to make it fit XCom and make it brutal if you break concealment at the wrong time.

Regardless I've added configs that let you adjust the values and the dark event.

I like the Dark Event, however it should definitely not default to -50%, -25% maybe.

Otherwise great Mod, I hope to use something like it in a special project. :)

I've also been trying this mod out for a spin, and my two suggestions would be as follows:

- Allow timer to run as normal (as per vanilla) during missions where your objective is to destroy an alien transmitter. It doesn't really make sense to me that the aliens would wait on XCOM to arrive before trying to complete their mission objective in this circumstance.

- Either rebalance or remove the Dark Event. Would it be possible to retool it so that ADVENT randomly scans areas of the map for concealed teams, so that you have a chance to suddenly lose the benefit of concealment, just by being in the area of the scan? I think that might better fit the flavour of the mod, without being a surefire death sentence for VIP missions.

It's a great mod overall; I love that it fixes the turn timer mechanic, rather than flatly removing it. I'm sure glad I found out about it. <3

To capture Dark VIP you need at least 3 turns provided the map was generated in your favour. I like the idea, but on legendary 50% is way too much, since you only have 2 turns to kill all pods + reinforcements. Just one extra turn would do wonders.

This version of true concealment is most definitely not a freebie. Vanilla xcom is way easier. Especially the extraction maps where you can lose your whole team if you don't get to the extraction point in time. DO NOT try using this mod with ironman mode.

50% is insane for the dark event, 20% would be harsh enough. As it stands now it's gamebreaking. Toggling this mod off.

The dark event is a little harsh I think.

Perhaps it should just let the timers run from the instant you touch down? Maybe ADVENT ... sees the Skyranger?

Make the Advent mission pack a mod on its own and let True Concealment be about that and not bundle things with it. I know no-one who likes surprises bundled with the thing they actually wanted.

can u add shooting civilians in the face when they break your concealment...

by now i am so afraid to play the first turns of the timed missions !

still a great mod and thanks to add easy adjustments ini for the dark event. in my version of legend/i its impossible with the 3 and 5 turn limit timers it brings.

VIP mission survivor reporting in. Got lucky with the map so that the extraction point was inbetween the VIP and the starting point. Got all of my soldiers but one in the extraction zone, killed the VIP with the other soldier, conceled him again (he had the perk) and got back to evac. Alas capturing a VIP would be impossible.

That said, this dark event has just pretty much ruined my C/I run. Gonna tune it down a bit.
